Kostast Smoriginas, bass-baritone, was born in Lithuania. His repertoire includes Escamillo in Carmen (Bizet), the title role in Don Giovanni, Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart), the title role in Yevgeni Onegin (Tchaikovsky), the title role in Aleko (Rachmaninov), the High Priest in Samson et Dalila (Saint-Saens), Scarpia in Tosca (Puccini), Jochanaan in Salome (R. Strauss) and others. He performs at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and in the opera houses of Berlin, Salzburg, Santa Fe, Dresden, Beijing, Koln, Moscow, Zurich, Bregenz, Vilnius, Washington, San Francisco and others. At the Israeli Opera he performed Tomsky in Pique Dame (Tchaikovsky).
