Was born in Austria. His repertoire includes many baritone roles of Verdi such as Nabucco, Rigoletto, Iago in Otello, as well as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly (Puccini), Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni), Belcore in L’elisir d’amore (Donizetti) and others.He has performed  in La Scala, Deutsche Oper Berlin, ROH Covent Garden, Bordeaux, Prague and others.
