Lyubov Petrova was born in Russia. Her repertoire includes the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor, Norina in Don Pasquale (Donizetti), Valencienne in Die lustige Witwe (Lehar), Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss), Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Despina in Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Sophie in Werther, the title role in Manon (Massenet), Violetta in La traviata, Gilda in Rigoletto, Nannetta in Falstaff, Oscar in Un ballo in maschera (Verdi), Adele in Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss), Xenia in Boris Godunov (Mussorgsky), Woglinde in Das Rheingold (Wagner), Juliette in Romeo et Juliette (Gounod), Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare in Egitto (Handel), Adalgisa in Norma, Elvira in I puritani (Bellini), the title role in Lakme (Delibes), Ludmila in Ruslan and Ludmila (Glinka), the title in The Snow Maiden (Rimsky-Korsakov) and many others. She was also featured as the Queen of the Night in the 2006 film of Die Zauberflote (Mozart) directed by Kenneth Branagh.
