Weisskopf Yifat, mezzo-soprano
Yifat Weisskopf, mezzo soprano, was born in Israel. She graduated from the Jerusalem Rubin Academy for Music. She has been a recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, Eli Leon and the Industrial-Commercial Club scholarships. Yifat Weisskopf was a member of the Israeli Opera's Opera Studio where her repertoire included the Zweite and Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflote (Mozart), the Witch in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck) and Marcellina and Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart). She performed the Witch in Hansel und Gretel with the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflote (Mozart) with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion. She performed as a soloist in opera concerts with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and the Raanana Symphonette Orchestra. She performed Cherubino and Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart) in the Opera Studio production with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, IBA as well as Cherubino with the Israel Sinfonietta Beersheva. At the Israeli Opera she performed Giovanna in Ernani (Verdi), Sonyetka in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (Shostakovich), the title role in the community production of La Cenerentola (Rossini) as well as the Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflote (Mozart) and several roles in Alice in Wonderland (David Sebba) in the Israeli Opera family productions.
