Steffens Karl-Heinz, conductor
Karl-Heinz Steffens, conductor, was born in Germany. He is the music director of the Prague State Opera and the principal conductor and artistic advisor of the Norrkoping Symphony Orchestra. His wide opera repertoire includes Fidelio (Beethoven), Der fliegende Hollander, Gotterdammerung (Wagner), Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Pelleas et Melisande (Debussy) and others at the opera houses of Berlin, Prague, Oslo and La Scala in Milan. He regularly conducts leading international symphony orchestras including the Bavarian Radio Symphony, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Israel Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, the Zurich Tonhalle, the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Halle Orchestra and others. He was the music director of the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz Orchestra.
