Yacobi Nofar, soprano
Yacobi Nofar, soprano
Nofar Yacobi, soprano, was born in Israel. Her operatic repertoire includes the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Offenbach), Gilda in Rigoletto, Oscar in Un ballo in maschera (Verdi), Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (Puccini), Najade and Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strass), Amore on Orfeo ed Euridice (Gluck), the leading role in Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti) and others. She performs in the opera houses of Vienna, Bologna, Munich, Palermo, Orvieto, Calgary and others. She performed as a soloist with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, the Ferara Academy Orchestra, The Revolution Orchestra, The Glenn Gould New Music Ensemble, the Toronto Academy Chamber Orchestra and others. She received the Respighi Prize of the Chamber Orchestra of New York, the first prize in the Rita Gorr Competition (Belgium) and the first prize in the Spazio Musica Competition in Italy. She was a member of the Meitar Opera Studio where her repertoire included the Sand Fairy and the Dew Fairy in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Sour Genovieffa and Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica (Puccini) and others.
