Chilean designer Germán Droghetti worked internationally in opera, ballet, theater, and TV. A professor at the University of Chile, he collaborated with major international venues such as the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the New National Theatre in Tokyo, Washington National Opera, and theaters in Germany. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein he designed Le nozze di Figaro with Michael Hampe. Droghetti worked with directors like Paolo Montarsolo, Igor Folwill, and Antonello Madau-Diaz. At the Cologne Opera, he created sets and costumes for La bohème and Die Zauberflöte, both directed
by Michael Hampe. He passed away unexpectedly in 2020, at the age of 62.
