Andreas Grüter is head of lighting at the Cologne Opera. He graduated from the Bavarian Theater Academy and has worked as a freelance lighting designer at numerous theaters and opera houses, including the Bavarian State Theatre, Opéra Marseille, Welsh National Opera, and Volksoper Vienna. Among his works Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Bayreuth Festival, Moses and Aron and Electra at Vienna State Opera, Les Huguenots at the Opera Bastille, Simone Boccanegra at the Salzburg Festival and Freischütz at the Staatopera Hambrug. 

This is his first work at the Israeli Opera.
