Aigul Akhmetshina, mezzo soprano, was born in Russia. Her repertoire incudes the title role and Mercedes in Carmen (Bizet), Preziosilla in La forza del destino, Maddalena in Rigoletto (Verdi), Sesto in La clemenza di Tito (Mozart), the title role in La Cenerentola (Rossini), Polina in Pique Dam (Tchaikovsky), Hanna in The Passenger (Weinberg) and other roles. She performs regularly at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden as well as the opera houses of Berlin, Madrid, Naples, Wexford and others.
