Tiran Itay, director & actor
Itay Tiran was born in Petah Tikva, Israel, and began his acting studies at the Beit Zvi School of Performing Arts in 1999. From 2002, he was active as both an actor and director at the Cameri Theatre in Tel Aviv. Along with appearances in Israeli television series, Itay Tiran participated in many films, including "Bufor" which won the Silver Bear at the Berlinale Festival (2007) and "Lebanon" which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival (2009) and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.
Itay Tiran has also won numerous theater awards, including Israeli Theater Awards for Promising Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Actor, the latter of which he won multiple times. Between 2018-2019, he was a member of the Stuttgart Theater ensemble, and since the 2019/20 season, he has been a member of the Burgtheater ensemble in Vienna, where he continues to act, alongside appearances in television and film and work as a director.
