Elena Popovskaya, soprano was born in Russia. Her repertoire includes Gorislava in Ruslan and Ludmila (Glinka), Kupava in The Snow Maiden (Rimsky-Korsakov), Elisabeth in Maria Stuarda (Donizetti), Abigaille in Nabucco (Verdi), the title role in Tosca, Madama Butterfly and Manon Lescaut (Puccini), Elektra (R. Strauss), Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni), Ortrud in Lohengrin, Senta in Der fliegende Hollander (Wagner) and many other roles. She performs at the Bolshoi and the Mariinsky as well as in the opera houses of Brussels, Riga, Torre del Lago, Arena di Verona, Rome, Bologna and others. This is her Israeli Opera debut.
