Birgit Wentsch, costume designer, was born in Germany. She has worked at the Hamburg Opera, the Bayreuth Festival and the Berliner Ensemble. She designs regularly for theatre, dance and film. In the last decade she works at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein where she recently designed costumes for Yevgeny Onegin (Tchaikovsky) and La belle Helene (Offenbach). Her work for the Israeli Opera includes Pagliacci (Leoncavallo) and Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni).
