03 שנים מאחורינו, 03 שנים של חלומות והגשמתם
בהקמה, עשייה והתפתחות שהן הרבה מעבר לגבולות הזמן.
בעשור הראשון לאופרה התרכזנו בהקמת תשתיות לאופרה
בישראל: מהמבנה הארגוני והמסגרת האמנותית, דרך בניית
ויצירת קשרים בארץ ובעולם, עמלנו רבות לביסוס קהל במדינה
ללא מסורת אופראית, הקמנו מקהלה, תזמורת ואגודת ידידים
לאופרה, וכמובן תכננו בית הולם לקיום הפעילות האמנותית
הנרחבת הכוללת הפקות אופרה, מופעי מחול וקונצרטים.
בעשור השני לאופרה החלומות הפכו למעשים פורצי מסגרות.
האופרה כבר התבססה כאחד מגופי התרבות המובילים והגדולים
במדינת ישראל, הבונה את עצמו גם כמוסד בינלאומי.
בעשור השלישי לאופרה בישראל, הרחבנו את מעגלי היצירה
ויצאנו למרחבים: הקמנו תכנית להכשרת סולני אופרה צעירים,
בנינו תכניות חינוך מגוונות לבתי הספר ברחבי הארץ, יצרנו
הפקות אופרה ישראליות מקוריות, ביססנו מסורת של הפקות
אופרה קהילתיות ברחבי הארץ, בנינו מפעל אופרה בחוצות
והקמנו פסטיבל אופרה בינלאומי במצדה שמושך אליו תיירים
מהארץ ומהעולם.
אנו צועדים לקראת עשור חדש ופנינו נשואות קדימה; מה מצפה
לנו בשנה הקרובה? אנו נדגיש העונה את השילוב המרתק בין
תחומים שונים של אמנות. מהלך זה יתבטא בשפע המופעים
המגוונים שצפויים לעלות כחלק מהרפרטואר החדש שלנו. בכל
מה שקשור לרפרטואר העונה הבאה עלינו לטובה, הרי שאנו
גאים במיוחד לציין את העלתן של אופרות חדשות בעברית.
תמיד משמח לחגוג את היוולדה של יצירת מקור ישראלית,
אך כאשר היא מתבססת על יצירות מאת ש“י עגנון וחנוך לוין
ובהלחנתם של חיים פרמונט ויוני רכטר – הרי שהשמחה כפולה
ומכופלת. המחויבות לחדש, למקורי ולמפתיע תבוא לכדי ביטוי
גם בשיתופי פעולה לא שגרתיים עם מיטב היוצרים הישראליים.

האופרה במצדה נציג שתי הפקות: טוסקה מאת פוצ‘יני והפקה
מרהיבה של היצירה האהובה – כרמינה בורנה. תכנית אמנותית
סוערת ומגוונת במיוחד, והפתעות גם בגזרת סדרות המחול,
המוסיקה והג‘אז במשכן.
שלושים שנים כבר מאחורינו, עבודה רבה עוד לפנינו. מי ייתן
ותהיינה אלו שנים נוספות של עשייה, הגשמת חלומות, מצוינות
והצלחה. לחיי העשור הבא!

Dear Subscribers,
30 years are behind us: 30 years of making our dreams come
true, 30 years of development that goes way beyond the
bounds of time.
In the
Opera’s first decade
, we concentrated on building an
infrastructure for opera in Israel: from organizational structure
and artistic framework to creating connections in Israel and
abroad. We nurtured an audience in a country without an
opera tradition; we founded a chorus, an orchestra, and a
Friends Association; and, of course, we designed a state of the
art home for our artistic endeavors.
In the
Opera’s second decade
, the dreams turned into
breakthrough achievements. The Opera was already
establishedas oneof the largest and leadingcultural institutions
in Israel and it built itself as an international institution as well.
In the
Israeli Opera’s third decade
, we expanded the spheres
of artistic creation and spread our wings: we established an
Opera Studio for young Israeli opera singers, we built diverse
educational programs for schools throughout the country,
we created original Israeli opera productions, we created a
tradition of community opera productions throughout the
country's periphery, we developed outdoor opera projects,
and we established an international Opera Festival at Masada,
which attracts tourists from Israel and all over the world.
We are marching toward a new decade and looking ahead;
what awaits us in the coming year? This season we will highlight
an exciting combination of various artistic genres. We are
especially proud to note a production of two new operas in
Hebrew. It is always a joy to celebrate the birth of an original
Israeli creation, but when it is based on works of
S. Y. Agnon
and
Hanoch Levin
, and composed by Haim Permont and
Yoni Rechter – the joy is all the greater. Our commitment to the
new, the original, and the surprising will also be manifested in
unusual collaborations with the best of Israeli creative artists.
Also in our repertoire is Verdi's grand opera
Nabucco
conducted by Maestro
Daniel Oren
, which will be screened
live from the opera house to ten locations throughout Israel;
Il barbiere di Siviglia
in a colorful production; and two
productions at the Masada Opera Festival –
Tosca
by Puccini,
and a spectacular production of
Carmina Burana
. Our 30th
anniversary program will feature many more surprises at our
opera house and beyond.
30 years are already behind us, and much work lies ahead.
We hope that the coming years will be additional years of
achievement, realization of dreams, excellence, and success.
